Just a few insane screenshots from Dallas Campbell’s “Supersized Earth” programme, where he looked at the tallest buildings and shit.

Not just looked at though: went to the top of. The very top. I’ve seen the Burj Khalifa from ground level, and it’s impossible to fathom just how high that building is from there. You literally can’t tilt your head high enough to see the top.

Those screenshots are making my hands sweat. GAH. Absolutely terrifying, and INSANE, how high that building is.

I got the Jolicraft texture pack for Minecraft.

I guess I have to take back what I said before. 3d games can still be pretty even when they’re pixely! Or at least that’s what I discovered after I got Jolicraft. I think everything pretty much looks amazing now. :3 Well, I guess with one exception—I don’t really like the yellowish green color of normal grass. The texture pack really changes a lot of really small things in really big ways, too, like the way the interface is wobbly and pretty now instead of the uniform boring default look. :3

My issue with mods and appearance changing plugin thingies when I’m just starting a game is that I don’t really get to experience what the original game was like. I’ve only seen The Nether with the pack on, and while it looks somewhat scary, I’m under the impression that I would have been absolutely horrified by it if I had been using the original texture pack. So I guess that’s both a good and bad thing. ^^;

This post persuaded me to try out a new texture pack too. Thanks, Aideen! :3
